On a recent flight I happened to overhear an interesting conversation between the flight attendant and a woman a few rows behind me.
The plane was a regional jet with one seat on the left side, the aisle and then two seats on the right side. It was completely sold out and the lone flight attendant was very busy getting everyone in their seats, checking for seat belts, closing overhead baggage compartments and helping to ensure that all of our tray tables were stowed and our seatback were in their upright and most uncomfortable positions.

I discovered the local Radio station and the local disk jockeys. I discovered that if you were at home sick in bed, you could call the DJs on the phone and talk to them. I found that they would play games and encourage listeners to call in to win. This was very exciting for a young boy stuck at home.
